**Information on the collection, use, storage, and deletion of data**

WITTENSTEIN collects data based on the information provided to us. WITTENSTEIN regularly requires this data to conduct its business operations—the manufacture, distribution, and sale of mechatronic drive technology and related services. If, for example, personal data (e.g., name, address, email address) is collected either through trade fair visits and business contacts, including email, or via the email addresses provided on the website, the contact form, or the newsletter mailing list, this is done on a voluntary basis. This data is processed in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) EU GDPR for the performance of a contract, for the implementation of pre-contractual measures or, if desired and permissible (with consent given in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) EU GDPR), for our own marketing purposes and will not be passed on to third parties for purposes other than those mentioned without your express consent. Authorized third parties who receive data may be, for example, affiliated companies or service providers. The provision of your personal data is not required by law. Contractually, the provision of data is only required if you yourself become a contractual partner, but it is regularly necessary for the conduct of business and contractual processing in order to be able to communicate with you in the context of contract initiation or contract execution and to ensure processing.
The data is stored for the period and duration of pre-contractual measures or the business relationship, or for as long as you have an independent need for information about our products and/or services. The stored data (usually name, address, email address) will be deleted as soon as the purpose no longer applies and there are no legal tax, archiving, or other obligations to the contrary. In the case of existing legal obligations, deletion will take place after the legal deadlines have expired.
WITTENSTEIN points out that unencrypted data transmission on the Internet (e.g., when communicating by email) in particular may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties cannot be guaranteed.

**Recipients of the data**

Within the WITTENSTEIN group, we ensure that only those persons who need your data to fulfill contractual and legal obligations receive it.

The transfer of your data within our group of companies may be necessary, for example, if you submit an inquiry to an affiliated company of the WITTENSTEIN group via our central contact form. In certain cases, service providers support our specialist departments in fulfilling their tasks. The necessary data protection agreements have been concluded with all service providers.

**Information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability, and revocation**
You have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and data portability of this data at any time, provided that there are no legal regulations to the contrary. If you have given us your consent to collect and store your data, you have the right to revoke this consent at any time. Until revoked at , the storage and collection of data remains lawful. You also have the right to object.
To exercise these rights, please contact: [dataprotection(at)wittenstein.de](# "dataprotection@wittenstein.de") The same applies if you have any questions about data processing in our company or wish to revoke your consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Further privacy policy for the website

**Collection and use of data**
Some data is automatically collected by our IT systems when you visit the website. This is primarily technical data (e.g., Internet browser, operating system, or time of page view). This data is collected automatically when you visit the website. Some of the data is collected to ensure the error-free provision of the website. Other data, however, can be used to analyze your user behavior.

**SSL or TLS encryption**
This website uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as inquiries via the contact form. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

**Contact form**
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions.
The data entered in the contact form will be processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) EU GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time. To do so, simply send us an informal email. The legality of the data processing operations carried out until revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been processed). Legal provisions, e.g., regarding storage, remain unaffected. We will forward your request to the relevant business unit of the WITTENSTEIN group to which your request is addressed.

**Registration / Customer account**
On our website, we offer users the opportunity to register by providing personal data. The advantage of this is that you can view your order history and the data you have entered for the order form is stored. This means that you do not have to re-enter this data when placing a new order.
Registration is therefore necessary either for the performance of a contract with you or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 (1) (b) EU GDPR).
The principle of data minimization and data avoidance is observed here, as only the data necessary for registration is marked as a mandatory field with an asterisk (\*). This is your email address and password.
Once the registration process is complete, your data will be stored with us for use in the protected customer area. As soon as you log in to our website with your email address as your username and password, this data will be made available for actions you perform on our website.

**Newsletter**
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on this website, we need your email address and information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter (known as the double opt-in procedure). No further data is collected or is collected on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information or responding to your request and do not pass it on to third parties outside the WITTENSTEIN group.
The data entered in the newsletter registration form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) EU GDPR). You can revoke your consent to the storage of data, your email address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the unsubscribe link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you provide for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted after you unsubscribe. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g., for contract processing) remains unaffected by this.
